Summary of responsibility:

MP Systems is looking for an upbeat and hard-working Accounting Manager to join a growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven accounting professional. The Accounting Manager is responsible for financial reporting and providing operational support to the organization. These duties help to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This position also applies principles of accounting to develop systems, analyze data, recommend improvements to management, and implement/maintain approved recommendations while ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting
• Manage costs associated with production, including both variable and fixed costs.
• Responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial reports, cost reports, corporate reporting package as part of the month end closing process.
• Review rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggest policy changes to improve numbers.
• Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Work with Supply Chain and Assembly Managers for further standard processes and procedures to be put in place
• Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count
• Participate in annual business planning processes
• Supervises Month end close of the General Ledger
• Sub-Ledger Reconciliation for Inventory, Return to Vendor and Warranty/Return Accruals
• Inventory purchasing and turn analysis capabilities
• Assist in the Data Migration and implementation of new Service & ERP Systems.
• Revenue, Cost and budget to actual Analysis.
• Produce and review sales commission statements for accuracy and payment processing
• Strong critical thinking capacity to develop and guide the direction of the department to the benefit of company objectives
• Procurement Cards Expense Validation and Trending Analysis.
• Analyze various audits, prepares/reviews reports and communicates recommendations to management based on reports analysis.
• Provides detailed information not supplied by general accounting systems.
• Collects and analyzes data to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of various business activities.
• Be responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
• Provide timely feedback to upper management regarding activity, goals, performance, and any department training requirements.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
• Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field.
• Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
• Experience with Cost Accounting functions
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is not required but a plus.
• Experience in Manufacturing is a plus.
• Must have experience and a passion for working in a $10-$50 million sales company.
• Demonstrated ability in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Proven understanding and experience creating journal entries
• Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Operational experience a plus
• Proficiency in Excel is required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related business programs as required.
• Knowledge of accounting systems; ability to learn various processes relating to accounting systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both professional and non-professional, co-workers, management personnel, the public and others.
