Accounting Specialist

Summary of Functions:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing various accounting tasks and helping to manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in Month end and Year- end Closings
• Develop budgets, report on and analyze sales and costs.
• .Potentially help supervise Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable
• Prepare journal entries.
• Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
• Produce and Analyze Financial Reports and accounting data.
• Coordinate with IT department for system issues
• Assist with product costings and product profitability analysis.
• Financial Analysis of capital projects.
• Work on special projects as required

Organizational Relationships:
Position reports to the Controller.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Ag Business with an excellent academic record.
• Some experience as an Accountant preferred but not required (Agriculture/manufacturing/distribution organization ideal).
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong systems background and excellent analytical skills
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals
• Accounting professional who is detail-oriented & accurate
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships at all levels
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP system
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Highest level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle and manage confidential information
• Creative, abstract thinker/problem-solver

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
• Accounting: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• CPA (Preferred)
