Job Description

Lavu is looking for a backend software engineer with experience in building SaaS or consumer internet products with scale and security to join our mobile/cloud POS engineering team.

You will participate in the design and development (90%) of both new features and enhancing current features of our POS system running in the cloud. This position reports to Technical Director of POS product.

The ideal candidate is customer oriented, results driven, and passionate about delivering secured internet service to our customers in 60 plus countries. To be successful, you will need to work well in a fast paced, startup environment.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on design and development of backend features in our POS product

• Build new features and enhance existing features to meet the customer needs

• You will code in PHP, Python and Node.js.

• Development includes APIs, core business logic and MySQL database work.

• Work closely with other software engineers in the backend and frontend mobile engineers to deliver features

• Work closely with QA team for delivering features to production without release rollback.

• Collaboration with DevOps team on-needed basis for any production related issues

Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of software development experience

• Demonstrable back-end implementation experience with production internet systems

• Backend design, and development of software using Python, Node.js and PHP that can scale to millions of HTTPS transactions

• Strong Linux experience is a must and Docker/Kubernetes experience is required

• Strong knowledge of RDBBS (MySQL, SQL queries and SQL query optimizations) is a must

• Development experience in a SaaS product is a plus

• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud computing platform is required

• RESTful API design and development with JSON and XML payloads

• Good understanding of HTTP 1.1 protocol with TLS is required

• Understanding of OAuth2.0 protocol and related authentication protocols

• Good understanding of asynchronous programming paradigm

• Strong software development fundamentals, architecture, algorithms, and problem-solving skills

• Strong knowledge of how the web works and how to create efficient implementations

• Experience with payment processing systems and POS is a big plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
