We are looking for a Campus Director with a passion for high quality learning and care for our littlest learners at Opportunity School’s Edwards Campus. The Campus Director position reports to our Program Quality Specialist and would be supervising a campus of up to 130 children and their families with approximately 35 staff members.

Opportunity School is a high performing early childhood education center serving primarily low-income children and families. Our mission is to equip young children (0-5) and their families for success through high quality early childhood education and caring family support. We are a team that is passionate about supporting and encouraging families and their young children. We know that when we do this well, we provide the best possible start for young children and create strong partnerships with families.

We are looking for an leader who has experience in the early childhood education field, meets Child Care Regulation requirements for center directors and demonstrates the following qualities:

· Has experience in program leadership and supervising others.

· Operates with a high degree of professionalism and someone who is kind and consistent.

· A person who has high integrity, is a problem solver and is able to delegate and hold people accountable in daily activities.

· Energetic and is able to effectively focus on the details needed for a licensed child care center but also can work towards big picture quality improvements.

· Able to collaborate effectively in a diverse school family of co-workers, families and a wide range of community partners.

· Willing to go the extra mile for the program and team and is an effective servant leader.

Opportunity School is a year-round program. Our campuses are open from 7:30am to 5:45pm, Monday through Friday. Some evenings and weekends may be required for trainings and meetings that are scheduled outside of the normal workday. Let your passion shine at Opportunity School!

Job description

The Campus Director works as part of an inter-disciplinary team to support the children in all areas of development while providing education, health, and social service support to families.

An Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related field of education or business management. Must be able to meet the Texas Child Care Regulation qualifications for the Director position.

Responsibilities

· Oversee the program and licensed child care operations of the Edwards Campus location.

o Ensure quality early learning environments and instruction in the classrooms through coaching, mentoring and training for classroom teachers, assistant teachers and floaters.

o Ensure family engagement through home visits, parent communication and family events.

o Ensure program compliance within all partnerships and regulatory requirements.

o Ensure that the building and equipment of the school are properly maintained.

o Ensure staff morale and accountability.

· Ensure high quality standards and compliance is achieved with all partners including TXDFPS Child Care Regulation (CCR), Early Head Start and Head Start (EHS/HS), Texas Rising Star (TRS), National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation (NAEYC), USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), etc.

· Work with Program Quality Specialist to hire, train, supervise, develop and retain the Edwards Campus staff.

· Work effectively with other leadership team members to oversee program requirements, especially the Program Quality Specialist, Food Service Manager, Family Services team as well as the Assistant Director(s).

The selected candidate will be joining an high-functioning, established team and must be able to work collaboratively with diverse team members as well as across Opportunity School’s two campuses to ensure program quality and consistency and to provide the best possible services to children and families.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,565.18 - $46,000.00 per year
