Mountain Community Health Partnership is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The CMA credential represents a medical assistant credentialed through the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The credential is awarded to candidates who pass the CMA (AAMA) Certification/Recertification Exam. The credential must be recertified every five years by continuing education or reexamination to give evidence of continuing competency and knowledge. The CMA is responsible for providing clinical, laboratory, and business office assistance in the front office and clinical setting under the supervision of the office manager (for clerical responsibilities), or physicians, mid-level practitioners (NP, PA, CNM), or nurse manager (for clinical responsibilities). The CMA is a member of a care team lead by the healthcare provider and serves as a liaison between the patient and the healthcare provider for establishing and maintaining quality patient care.
Clinical responsibilities include but are not limited too demonstrating accuracy and efficiency in data collection using the EMR; Facilitating coordination of care by obtaining and tracking test results and consult records and communication with healthcare providers, community organizations, health plans, facilities and specialists; Provides ongoing assessment of patient status for changes in condition; Carries out the medical providers' orders accurately, safely, and efficiently; Assists other health care providers in emergency situations, performing tasks within their scope; Uses self-management and motivational interviewing, teach-back skills, patient coaching and health literacy.
Clerical responsibilities include but are not limited too welcoming patients in person or by telephone; Answering and/or referring inquiries; Schedules appointments and maintains providers' schedules in the EMR; Completes ancillary and referral forms as needed; Maintains patient confidentiality of medical records; Is crossed trained in all front desk/clerical roles.
Completion of an CMA course and CMA (AAMA) certification required. Prior experience as a CMA in a clinical setting preferred.
