Position Title: Project Manager

Department: Operations Position

Description:

1) PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Project Manager is responsible for managing all project activities to satisfy the customer and our company requirements. This individual is the primary contact for the customer and is responsible for communicating responsibilities to his team members. It is one of the most important jobs within our company because he/she is our representative to our customer. In addition, this position is responsible for overall project performance. Responsible for establishing and controlling all project administration, collaboration with construction team members, continual development of construction knowledge and compliance with established construction standards.

2) ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Director of Operations.

3) PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all company Business Conduct Guidelines.
  • Manages through subordinates, all manufacturing activities, scheduling, shipping and receiving, tooling, maintenance, accounting, human resources, safety, engineering, quality, and program management.
  • Manages the project development team to ensure our company provides a high quality product.
  • Serves as a primary contact for our customers.
  • Ensures positive customer relations and positive customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for executing all estimating and bidding.
  • Totally responsible for project management.
  • Maintains the Statement of Work.
  • Responsible for all scheduling/planning.
  • Responsible for budget planning and adhering to budgets.
  • Responsible for processing purchase orders and change orders.
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriations and purchase requisitions are initiated.
  • Must ensure all paperwork is completed timely and accurately.
  • Conduct Opening Meeting at the beginning of every job.
  • Conduct safety meetings when applicable.
  • Approve invoices timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for Budget Control which includes subcontractor payroll approval.
  • Responsible for communicating project status to the Director of Operations on a regular basis, with weekly reporting as a minimum.
  • Responsible for handling all warranty issues.
  • Responsible for accurately evaluating the performance of the Superintendent.
  • Participates in the annual Employee performance reviews for all subordinates.
  • Actively support subordinate development through mentoring and training.
  • Complete all requests for information (RFI’s) in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for updating the monthly calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

4) HUMAN RELATIONS: Liaison between key customer and internal support groups. Work in partnership with all project managers, key suppliers, team members, and any applicable support personnel in promoting procedural adherence, problem solving activities and product/process improvements.

5) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job related experience.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, written, and follow-up skills.
  • 5 years experience in the construction industry, preferably in program management.
  • Must have a good understanding of internal and customer quality requirements.
  • Must have good analytical problem solving skills.
  • Must have full understanding of computer hardware/software systems.
  • Must have ability to understand and use measurement equipment, report writing, and computer skills.

6) ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Must ensure that we produce a quality product and provide it to our customer on time.
  • Must ensure that all issues related to quality and delivery of the product are addressed in an effective manner.
  • Must communicate with team on a regular basis on all issues related to quality, delivery, production, safety, cost, and team member development.

7) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

  • Normal office conditions with some exposure to shop floor conditions.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five years minimum experience. One year minimum of government experience.
  • Ideal candidate is an effective communicator and is detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills. Has the ability to prioritize tasks in order to assist with multiple projects and deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
