Job Description :
The Operations Cost Analyst will be responsible for identifying viable business solutions which aid in minimizing operational costs, capital spending, and/or inventory. Specific responsibilities will include analyzing product costs, variances, and fixed overhead costs, to identify cost trends, cost improvement opportunities, control issues, and process improvement options. Analyses may include make versus buy, people versus labor, buy quantities, development of product cost quotes, distribution sourcing, etc. The person will work with counterparts within Operations and Finance.
What you will do:
- Analyzing and understanding internal/external manufacturing issues and costs associated with the issues.
- Analyzing product costs to identify issues, develop solutions, and communicate information to create action steps for improvement.
- Working across Operations on cost budgets, partnering with business partners in other groups in Operations in an effort to drive process improvement.
- Developing cost for new products.
- Aiding in month end or annual close, reserve establishment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 3+ years of experience in the areas of cost or financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, Supply Chain processes.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, BPC, BI and SAP (or similar ERP system).
- Skilled in Financial and Product Cost analysis with a CPG background.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of internal and contract manufacturing.
