Job Summary

This position is ideally suited for someone with experience in 1.) Sales, 2.) Custom Framing 3.) Assistance. It is an hourly position with wages based on experience level and includes opportunities for commissions on sales.

Ideal candidates will have a background (knowledge or experience) in Fine Arts, Design, Sales & Marketing, Production & Processing, and Mechanical Tools and Uses. Strong candidates will already excel in verbal and written comprehension, problem sensitivity and solving, inductive and deductive reasoning, critical thinking, and originality.

Responsibilities and Duties

Sales tasks include:

• Recommending products to customers based on their needs and interests.

• Answering customer questions about products, prices, availability, etc.

• Estimate or quote prices, credit terms, warranty, and delivery dates.

• Prepare sales contracts and order forms.

• Checking stock levels and reordering merchandise as necessary.

The framing apprenticeship element of this job includes, but is not limited to, training for the following tasks:

• Cutting, shaping, fitting, joining, molding or otherwise processing materials, using hand tools and other machinery.

• Selecting materials based on strength, color, texture, size, and other applicable characteristics.

• Developing concepts or creative ideas for custom framing projects.

• Setting specifications for materials, dimensions, and finishes.

• Conferring with customers to assess customer needs or obtain feedback.

The final aspect of this job includes assisting the owner with various aspects of the business and continued elements of the trade including, but not limited to:

• Running errands

• Cutting molds

• General shop maintenance
