Stern-Williams is a manufacturer of terrazzo service sinks, shower floors, cabinet packages and a complete line of drinking fountains. We opened for business in 1962 beginning only with a few terrazzo mop sink models which we have gradually expanded to include one of the most complete lines of pre-cast plumbing products. Overview

We are looking for a trustworthy, enthusiastic, passionate customer-oriented professional who can help us achieve our goal of being our customer’s best vendor. Our team is a small, but tight-knit group that needs to work extremely well together to provide our customers and manufacturer’s representatives with a positive customer service experience. The role we are hiring for is not a new position.

You will be our customers’ first impression of Stern-Williams as you answer phone calls and emails about pricing, availability, and technical product support. You will enter orders into Stern-Williams’ ERP system, acknowledge orders and shipments to customers, interact with Stern-Williams’ National Sales Managers and Manufacturer’s Representatives to assure they have the tools to be successful in the field.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Customer Service Manager.
• Interact via telephone, email and occasionally in person with Stern-Williams’ customers and reps to answer questions about product availability, pricing, expediting, shipping and product troubleshooting
• Order entry, order checking, returned goods authorization creation, invoicing, rep inventory reconciliation, assist develop stock trucks and process shipments for rep warehouse billings
• Interaction and support of Stern-Williams’ National Sales Managers & Manufacturer’s Representatives to assure they have the tools necessary to succeed in their territories
• Interaction with Stern-Williams’ manufacturing and shipping departments to assist with internal expediting, shipping issues and freight claims
• Whatever else that is morally and ethically required to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Sales & Marketing Department at Stern-Williams

Qualifications

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with our customers, reps and Stern-Williams’ team
• Excellent documentation skills
• Excellent listening skills to help in diagnosing and assisting our customer solve their problems
• Ability to work both independently and part of our team

Computer Knowledge Skills:

• Experience with desktop computer system
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Excellent typing and data entry skills
• Knowledge of ERP systems a plus
• Knowledge of Salesforce/CRM a plus
• Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changes in the workplace

Customer Focus Skills:

• Proven excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment from diagnosis of the issue to solution and having a satisfied customer
• Ability to empathize with the customer and become their advisor
• Ability to determine the customers’ needs and propose a solution
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies are a plus

Other skills:

• Effective problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented
• Organized
• Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment

Education:

• College Degree Preferred
