Summary

Cornerstone Advertising is looking for an experienced and proven Email Marketing Strategist Team Lead to join our growing team of marketing and advertising experts. In this role you will be responsible for building and executing strategies in the interest of driving customer revenue and loyalty. You will also work hand-in-hand with clients to create a segmentation strategy, deploy tools and tactics to manage those segments. You will have an eye for and an ability in design, as well as possess strong copywriting/editing/proofreading skills. And last but certainly not least, you will be the subject matter expert on email marketing strategies—know how the channel is evolving, including trends, best practices, and new tools/technologies.

Team Leader Responsibilities

• Lead a team of part-time email strategists providing work direction, feedback, quarterly check-ins, and annual reviews.
• Responsible for being the subject matter expert for Cornerstone’s email department, having advance knowledge and provide guidance and strategy.
• Responsible for departmental planning and implementation of email strategies, processes, procedures, initiatives, including communicating milestones, risks, issues, and monitoring quality for all emails.
• Represent the email department in leadership, meetings, organization wide projects.
• Train/onboard new email strategists on job processes and procedures
• Participate in continuing education training, keeping the team up to date on the industry best practices.
• Promote innovation that results in improved click/open rates, identify new opportunities and exploring ways to repurpose existing content.

Primary Responsibilities

• Own the execution of all email marketing programs from beginning to end for our clients, from design and development, to audience building, scheduling, testing, approvals, and reporting.
• Work with clients and account management team to define email marketing goals including measurable KPI’s.
• Build and maintain a monthly email content/promotional calendar for all clients
• Use insights from client data to execute ongoing testing regimen (subject lines, layout, format, frequency, etc.) to continuously improve email performance focused on user engagement.
• Continually monitor, analyze and optimize campaigns to maximize ROI (e.g. reduce bounce rates, increase open and click rates, improve conversion rates, etc.)
• Analytics/reporting—review and provide final campaign results to clients, utilizing data to drive strategy

Communication Responsibilities

• Listen and respond to client and account managers’ requests.
• Collaborate with clients and account managers to determine the appropriate direction for campaigns.
• Communicate and collaborate with the Cornerstone Team to insure smooth transitions throughout all processes.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly strategy meetings with clients.
• Ensure brand standards are consistent and maintained
• Working use of analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics); digital media dashboards like Google AdWords
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Marketing or Business major preferred
• Minimum 5+ years relevant email marketing experience
• Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills for customer-facing copy
• Experience managing high volume email programs
• Ability to translate analytic data into strategic ideas
• Strong understanding of internet-based consumer behavior and direct marketing principles
• Experience managing and working with large subscriber databases
• Hands-on experience with CRM and email marketing platforms such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, Service Titan Marketing Pro, Salesforce, or similar
• Ability to code responsive emails using HTML and CSS knowledge
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
• Preferred: experience with project management software (e.g. Workzone)
• May be occasionally required to lift and carry up to 30 lbs of material

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Cornerstone offers a 4/1 work week, where the employee may choose to work 4 days in the office and 1 day at a remote location. Local travel is occasionally required.
