Location:: Kent, WA
Type: :Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly)
Schedule: :1st Shift; Mon-Fri (or Tues-Sat. if schedule allows) 10:00am – 6:30pm may be open to 4/10’s. Overtime may be required (extended shifts and/or weekends); On-call is <5%. Training period is 4-6 months on regular day shift (Mon – Fri 6:00am – 2:30pm).
Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday – Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Job Summary:
Employees in this position are responsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to, predictive and proactive maintenance systems and processes to support the company’s business goals and production and facility maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide variety of duties in multiple disciplines (i.e. Electrical, PLC, plumbing, etc.) install and maintain plant facility and production equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to quickly restore production capability.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities - to design, build and repair.
  • Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Read and properly interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. In addition, be involved in Kaizen events as needed as either a participant or supporter.
  • Build racks using appropriate metal for processing parts through chemical tanks.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

  • Ability to diagnose and research problems, brainstorm and develop potential solutions, test, make adjustments and successfully solve the problem.
  • Must be able to document fixes/repairs on CMMS software to allow effective communication for future failures/PMs.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently; self-driven.
  • Must be an excellent communicator.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Requires a goal-oriented person who has the ability to meet company/departmental goals and to adhere to company/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to get along with coworkers, management, and deal effectively and professionally under pressure.

  • Ability to use/learn Lean Tools and techniques to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background and preemployment drug screening
  • Pre-employment and annual physical exam required; ability to wear a respirator.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • 2+ years of basic industrial equipment maintenance skills; manufacturing experience; strong electrical, mechanical, PLC, HVAC and industrial skills. Willingness to learn welding with current maintenance staff.

  • Ability to see/hear/feel constantly
Hearing protection required when working in the area. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment may be required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and respirator (provided by Company).

Salary Range for position: :$25.00 - $45.00 per hour.
