POSITION SUMMARY: As a Part-Time Front Counter Representative, you are primarily responsible for responding to customers’ needs when they visit the RCN Payment Center in Washington, DC. Incumbent must have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Accept customer payments, enter into ICOMS, and provide customers with receipts. • Maintain cash drawer and compile deposits • Balance cash receipts daily; reconcile payments • Accept returned customer equipment • Swap customer equipment • Reconcile Technician ID for equipment tracking purposes • Process adjustments where appropriate and as necessary • Research and resolve customer billing issues • Research and resolve “missing payment” issues related to local office payments • Reschedule work orders for customers • Schedule SROs and trouble calls for customers (varies by market location) • Make upgrades and downgrades to existing customers’ accounts (varies by market) • Apply on-time guarantee as necessary • Provide customer education where necessary • Upsell customers on products and services where appropriate • Promote current marketing and sales activities with customers • Respond to escalated issues and problems • Flexibility to commute to two locations. Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Functional Knowledge • Working knowledge of ICOMS, Gmail, Excel. • Ability to handle cash. • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic. • Solid understanding of all RCN products and services. • Up-to-date on current product offerings, promotions, and policies. • Ability to remain calm and courteous when interacting with prospective and existing customers. • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. • Maintain punctual and reliable work habits and job attendance. • Close attention to detail. • Critical thinking skills. • Problem solving skills. Excellent customer service skills. Technical competence. Education and Experience • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Two years previous experience. • Customer service experience preferred. • Cash handling experience preferred.
