Responsibilities

• Managing a staff of two junior specialists. One in payables and one in receivables.
• Work with a large volume of over 30,000 skus with a portion coming from domestic as well as international contractual manufacturing and distribution partners.
• Cost accounting on manufactured components to create accurate gross margins on COGS.
• Use of QuickBooks for accounting and Finale Inventory for inventory control.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Bank reconciliation and ledger at month and year end.
• Build, hone and share to all the core processes and procedures of the department.
• Hiring, training and development of staff under you as well as disciplinary action if required.
• Work with our CPA firm as needed.
• Expense control on a weekly basis.
• Proper reconciliation of P&L as well as balance sheet accounts and modify those as needed.
• File sales and use tax on monthly basis.
• Assist with payroll processing.
• Maintain payroll archives with all state and federal tax reports, payroll summaries, & W-2.
• Cash flow analysis on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Credit card reconciliation.
• Bank reconciliation.
• Manage monthly close.
• Daily audit of cash deposits.
• Special projects as assigned by management.
• Verify and process customer refunds.
• Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, discounts, customer service and sales department, and customers.
• Manages the aging report, contact and setup payment arrangements for delinquent accounts, and send accounts to collections when necessary.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal, written, and client management.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
