1.0 Job Summary

Human Resource Manager is responsible managing the Human Resources Department activities and Human Resources Department employee(s) while designing and implementing human resources programs to achieve and support company objectives for talent acquisition, compensation, health and welfare benefits, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention. The HR Manager implements, advises and maintains disciplinary processes and manages payroll and benefits within federal, state and/or local regulations while ensuring the accuracy and consistency of transactions. The HR Manager motivates employees and utilizes resources to achieve objectives while adhering to safety, quality, and operational efficiency requirements. The HR Manager supports and communicates strategic objectives and initiatives of the company. This position reports CEO/ President, Borgers US Holdings.

2.0 Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

· Proactively ensure the safety and well-being of employees, vendors and visitors.

  • Objectively apply all company policies, programs, rules, regulations and safety rules in support of achieving departmental, plant and corporate goals for safety, quality and productivity.
  • Manages payroll function to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Develop, and implement recruiting strategies to achieve staffing objectives.
  • Develops, recommends, updates and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Creates and maintains job descriptions.
  • Performs benefits administration including change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Prepares and files annual reports including PDCC, EEO-1, OSHA 300, Form 5500 and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to regulations.
  • Supports operating units by developing solutions and recommending potential actions.
  • Coaches and counsel’s managers and employees.
  • Collects, interprets and reports data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Protects Borgers U.S. Holdings organization by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Models effective work habits by leading by example.
  • Maintains a positive and optimistic outlook.
  • Effectively interacts with internal customers and external contacts including team members, customers, and suppliers while maintaining high level of confidentiality.
  • Develop, participate, support and contribute to motivation and incentive activities including celebrations and holiday programs.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Borgers organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge and implementation of general safe work practices.

· High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation with impartiality and compassion.

· Knowledge of community and company resources.

· Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of various regulations with regard to payroll and human resources including FLSA, HIPAA, EEOC, ACA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, among others.

· Knowledge of office administration procedures.

· Ability to operate most standard office equipment.

· Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.

· Excellent spelling, grammar, written communication skills, telephone and oral communication skills.

· Able to perform intermediate math calculations (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculate percentages).

· Models effective attendance.

· Ability to change and embrace change.

· Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple projects and customers while meeting stringent deadlines.

· Good organizing and planning skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a work group or team.

· Able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including variable shifts and workdays.

· Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a variety of other computer software applications.

· Experience with union avoidance and/or negotiations with unions.

4.0 Credentials and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent in education/experience

· 4 years’ human resources generalist (including payroll) experience in increasingly complex roles

· Ability and desire to maintain the technical skills required to effectively achieve departmental objectives

5.0 Special Requirements

· Authorization to work and reside in the United States

6.0 Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift and carry items for short distances:

o less than 10 pounds – frequently

o less than 20 pounds – occasionally

o greater than 20 pounds – infrequently

  • Ability to bend, kneel, or climb steps/ladders.
  • Small motor skills including ability to grasp, control and use objects or tool.
  • Fine motor skills including manipulation of small objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
