CHC/SEIA is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Our MISSION is to provide quality comprehensive healthcare from a community-oriented partner, accessible to all.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Full time days: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm; hours may vary, some flexibility required to meet facility needs.

The Human Resources Generalist will assist the Director of Human Resources with specialized functions to ensure delivery of quality HR services to CHC/SEIA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (listed as follows are intended to describe the essential functions and related requirements of persons assigned to this job; and is not intended as an all-inclusive list of job duties, responsibilities and requirements)

1. Assist in the recruitment and interview process for non-provider positions:

a. Places internal notice of new positions/vacancies and issues notification to managers regarding staffing changes.

b. Coordinates placement of external advertisements though various forums [local media; organizational website; IA and IL Primary Care Associations; National Health Service Corps (NHSC); online employment postings; and other specific external organizational contacts as per policy]; maintain current recruitment/vacancy report and provide to managers.

c. Assist management staff with conducting interviews.

d. Coordinates selection process including interviews, reference checks, employment verifications, criminal background checks, pre-employment drug screenings, conduct new employee orientation and assures all applicable processes are documented and followed.

e. Assists in preparing offer letter and presenting offer to selected candidate.

f. Provides notification to applicants not selected for employment.

g. Maintains complete position file for all new and vacant positions.

h. Attend recruitment and career fairs as directed.

2. Maintain credentialing process for non-provider positions:

a. Collect required credentialing documents, license, registration, certifications from Other Licensed or Certified Practitioners (OLCP) and Other Clinical Staff (OCS) to insure compliance of initial credentialing as well as recredentialing.

3. Assist with performance management process to insure timely completion of initial and annual performance evaluations.

4. Primary responsibility for maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) and assignment of initial new hire trainings, annual required training, and any job-specific trainings as requested for staff.

3. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other clinic personnel.

4. Handles confidential information with tact and discretion on a need-to-know basis.

5. Follows established policies and procedures for safety, infection and exposure control.

6. Performs other duties, as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required. Minimum 1 year of H.R. experience required. Certification as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.

  • Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, typing, data entry. Testing will be completed to verify minimum level of proficiency.
