THE ROLE:

Counsel
– This position represents a unique and exciting opportunity for a business attorney looking to grow and experience new opportunities and challenges. We are currently reimagining the vision of our legal and compliance team to provide representation for various companies within the Amphenol Sensor Technology Group (ASTG), a dynamic and growing group of sensor companies, currently with 21 different brands and locations all over the world (https://www.amphenolsensors.com/). Work for the overall ASTG group will be joined to our historical efforts on behalf of the PCB and Temposonics (http://www.temposonics.com) organizations. The position will be based in Depew, NY.

This role will provide the opportunity to join a talented legal and compliance team and work with a group of successful businesses and accomplished business leaders. You will use your combined skills in corporate and contract law and sound business judgment to support ASTG.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with individual business leaders, functional management and subject matter experts in a practical way to solve problems through legal skills coupled with sound business acumen.
  • Draft, analyze and negotiate contracts to meet business goals. Our products are used in myriad industries and applications, including military, aerospace, automotive, industrial, and various other test, measurement and research applications.
  • Spot issues, analyze risk and develop strategies to add value to the business while mitigating risk relating to a wide range of business agreements, commercial and government sales, distribution, equipment purchases, confidentiality, and third party business partner due diligence and risk assessment.
  • Analyze and review domestic and international legal and business issues and counsel cross-functional stakeholders on operational, technology, regulatory, compliance and commercial matters.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to NY Bar preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of corporate/commercial practice as an in-house counsel or in a corporate/commercial department of a law firm.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage schedules and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience in review, analysis and negotiation of contracts.

INTERNATIONAL TRAFFIC IN ARMS REGULATIONS

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R, Chapter 1, Subchapter M). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
