Industrial Electrician Position – Valdosta, GA

This position, which is based in Valdosta, GA, is an “Over the road job” and is subject up to 100% travel. Job Description:

The Industrial Electrician maintains, installs, tests, calibrates, modifies, troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, or replaces electrical and instrumentation control equipment, electrical systems and equipment automation at existing factories and construction sites. This position is predominantly a service job which includes assisting the site maintenance team, new electrical installations, troubleshooting and servicing electrical issues. This position could also be considered an E&I job. All work shall be performed in a safe manner that conforms to OSHA, NEC, company and customer requirements.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

It is a plus to have an active Journeyman Electrical License/Certificate, but not required.

Installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital);

Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed.

Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician.

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position such as stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to work at heights of up to 120 feet.

Removing, repairing, adjusting and replacing components

Professional appearance and demeanor, with excellent communication skills.

Must be able to manage projects for implementing changes and improvements.

Strong work ethic and grit.

Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.

Must submit and pass a criminal background check.

Must have extensive knowledge of electrical theory, industrial electrical system, electrical hand and power tools, and industrial equipment.

Must have expertise in Industrial Automation, i.e. Motor Controls, VFD’s.

Must have experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI’s

Compliance with all safety rules and procedures of company, customer, and OSHA.

Availability to work after hours, overnight, weekends, and for on call times.

Must have extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment and periodic drug screen.

Ensure customer satisfaction. Must be reliable, respectful and trustworthy.

All work performed must meet or exceed the national electrical code as well as the local authority having jurisdiction.

This position involves working at manufacturing plants performing maintenance duties, project work, new construction, shutdowns, and rebuilds.

Must complete company and customer paperwork, log labor, materials and equipment used for service and projects.

Responsible for the installation, setup, troubleshooting and repair of industrial instrumentation. Some of the instruments include transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers and final control elements. They are used in industry to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force and chemical composition.

Responsible for neatly and professionally installing conduit and conductors to power and control electrical systems.

Must read and understand P&ID, design drawings, electrical schematics, and manuals to install and service equipment.

Responsible for the care and service of company and customer tools and equipment.

Must be on time for work and clocking into company and or customer timekeeping systems.

Must have and maintain reliable transportation to and from worksites.

Must have and maintain a reliable smartphone with software for company and customer apps.

Physical Demands:

Lift and move 50 lb. objects

Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitations

Ability to work in construction / distribution / factory environments that might be noisy, dark, hot, dusty, cold

Ability to work any day of the week and any shift including evenings and night shifts

Must be able to stand / walk for up to 10/12 hours per day

Engage both hands and wrists in full manual dexterity
