Position Summary

Are you new to HR? This position is an ideal way for undergraduates and graduates to gain practical hands-on work experience. As an intern, you will work with the HR department to gain valuable knowledge in Recruitment, New Hire Orientation and more. You will interact will all levels of management and employees to build a positive HR experience.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Learn how to recruit & conduct interviews (in-person/phone);
• Coordinate phone, zoom or in-person interviews
• Learn how to maintain and audit employment files;
• Assist with building new hire/term packets;
• Assist with Benefit enrollment;
• Participate in monthly employee appreciation activities;
• Assist with on-going projects as needed;
• Assistant to CEO – maintain CEO’s calendar is up to date, route mail appropriately, assist with submitting expense reports;
• Perform other duties as required to meet company needs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in HR or education equivalency;
• Knowledge of US Labor Laws: FLSA, OSHA, FMLA. CA specific laws preferred;
• Previous administrative assistant experience is desired;
• Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Bilingual: Speaks Vietnamese or Farsi is strongly desired but not required.

Work Schedule:

Office hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00AM to 5:00PM. This position has flexible hours depending on school schedule. Ideal candidate will be able to work about 20-25 hours per week. This is a 3- 6 month paid internship. Expected to begin in March through September.
