SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

1. Reports to the Machine Shop Manager.

2. Responsible for the complete and independent setup of all CNC and manual machines in a productive manner, to include the “Work Smart” ethic in regard to future setups.

3. Obtains standard or develops and utilizes improvised tooling and fixturing as required to machine parts to required tolerances as specified by the blueprints and other work instructions.

4. Operates machining equipment in a manner which ensures that all quality and efficiency requirements are met.

5. Plans the tooling, programming, and material requirements for the next scheduled job to ensure a systematic and efficient change over to the next job.

6. Has an understanding of CNC machine programming and is able to modify programs at the terminal.

7. Maintains accurate written and computerized records of tooling requirements and program changes as required.

8. Performs periodic maintenance as required.

9. Be cost effective in utilization of tools, supplies, and equipment.

10. Ensures that maximum utilization of material is achieved and waste and scrap are kept to a minimum.

11. Advise Supervision of any problems interfering with production and a safe working environment.

12. Must be goal oriented, demonstrating initiative, reliability, and success working towards the achievement of department objectives.

13. Inspects own work to verify compliance with the customer specifications and follows quality procedures outlined in the quality manual.

14. Records labor hours as required in the MieTrak system.

15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Machine Shop Manager.

18. Maintains all equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist for 2nd Shift, with good work ethic and leadership skills. Premium pay, $2500 sign on bonus after 6 months of service and gold standard benefit package for the right candidate. Must have references.
