Scope of the role

The Global Supply Planning Sr. Manager, Strategy & Business Operations is accountable for facilitating the run the business governance, communications, analytics, performance, yearly business process coordination and deliverables, identifying risks and mitigation for all the Global Supply planning teams.

In addition, this role can represent the function or for the functions for strategic initiatives and projects: these can be driven by continuous improvement, risk mitigation or by the strategic roadmap that are cross-functional, multi-site with high stakeholder management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as Monthly Planning Process Lead and drive the ongoing deployment and execution of the Supply Chain monthly planning cycle process in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Establish, document, maintain, evolve, and facilitate the standing governance, business processes and best practices
  • Facilitate meetings using GSP governance framework, setting of agendas, priorities, and objectives; understand and triage topics for cross functional discussion and alignment. Facilitate discussions in a structured manner to achieve quick decisions and robust outcomes.
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and consistency of the planning processes and related governance across the GSP teams
  • Lead, oversee and monitor the recurring annual planning cycle activities: monthly supply planning execution and financial cycle GSP deliverables
  • Ensure process adherence, monitor performance, and define corrective actions as needed. Act as coach and escalation point of contact to the Manager GSP Process Operations
  • Act as super-user/SME coach for rapid response and reporting functionality on an as need basis
  • Define, prepare and execute annual communication plans for GSP
  • Ensure excellent stakeholder management within the GSC teams as well as partners such as Finance, BI&A, Demand Planning, Human Resources (none exhaustive)
  • Propose and lead changes and enhancements to the process design to improve E2E short term effectiveness and the long term BMS portfolio and organizational evolution
  • Identify and oversee the required processes and tools to evaluate performance and enable pro-active data-driven risk detection and decision taking
  • Act as an SME in projects and/or multifunctional teams set to implement planning process improvements
  • Support the development of new business and process metrics and measures that drive the identification of continuous improvement opportunities and ensure healthy business operation.
  • Understand and Monitor performance and follow-up on corrective actions for the GSP teams
  • Assess the competency requirements and align on the talent management plan for developing the competencies required for successfully meeting the functional objectives
  • Continually self-assess and self-develop skill levels and performance via performance review and leadership & functional development programs

Professional experience and qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in supply chain, life sciences and/or engineering required, MBA preferred Experience in implementing world class, global supply chain planning processes and managing them through deployment of global advanced planning and scheduling systems
  • 5+ years of experience in in the biotech/pharma industry, or comparable
  • 3+ years in positions with responsibility to lead or significantly contribute to project mgmt., cross-functional taskforces, planning and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Executive-level communication skills; ability to prioritize work with autonomy and drive results under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Excellent collaboration, problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in team leadership, cross-functional stakeholder management
  • Proven critical thinking, analytical and logic skills with a focus on fact-based decision-making
  • System (ERP, planning tools, powerpoint suit) and organizational saviness
  • Strong Project Management capability skills.
  • Strongly preferred: experience in SAP and Rapid Response
  • Preferred: Good understanding and exposure to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements
  • Preferred: Exposure and experience in Biotechnology manufacturing process, principles, and practices
