The marketing team is a critical part of the long-term strategy to increase brand awareness, drive new sales, and increase customer retention and brand loyalty. The Marketing Generalist will assume a very key role in this new, fast paced, growth-oriented Marketing Team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Creativity and “scrappiness” are a must. Traditional marketing methods are utilized and useful, however the Marketing Generalist will also color outside the lines and implement new methods to increase market share as well as expand relationship with existing customer network
• Work directly with Marketing Manager to evaluate all marketing initiatives for weaknesses, identify improvements, and develop/prioritize solutions within budgetary constraints
• Develop marketed strategies and processes for new product launch programs
• Analyzing data to determine what marketing campaigns were successful, which ones fell short of goals, and why
• Communicating with customers to gain an understanding of their needs and objectives
• Identifying potential customers by researching industries, competitors, and end users
• Identify pricing recommendations for products or services based on market conditions and competition
• Conducting research on markets, products, competitors, and regulations to identify opportunities for growth
• Identifying potential leads from existing customer databases and contacting them with information about products or services
• Collaborate to develop improved customer on-boarding processes
• Developing marketing plans, including creating an advertising budget and timeline for implementation
• Increase understanding of customer base and marketplace through surveys
• Ensuring proper Brand Management through consistent use of Alliant Power logo, marks and designs all multiple departments
• Maintaining contact with existing clients to ensure satisfaction with products or services
• Manage event planning on specific customer events throughout the year
• Manage some of Alliant Power’s external marketing service providers
• Interface with internal customers like Sales and others to provide qualified leads to the organization

• Some experience with design software like Adobe Illustrator, photoshop, and others

• Ability to collaborate inside of the “idea-rich” environment inside of the Marketing department
• Ownership mentality relative to all job functions listed previously
• Self-starting approach to position

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related
• 2 years’ experience in a Marketing Role is preferred. More specifically, some experience in evaluating and develop marketing strategies
