The Mechanical Design/Quality Engineer is a multi-disciplined Engineering role to support new product development and existing product quality/conformity for KBS Innovations
(kbsinnovations.com). This position reports to the Director of Product Development. The position is based at the manufacturing facility in Hanover Township (Luzerne County) PA. This position is not a remote position and relocation is not being offered.

Job Description: This role will split time between a design engineering role and a quality engineering role. Within the design engineering aspect of the role, applicant will have the opportunity to design and develop new products from ideation through production with key focus on plastic and metal components, and electrical/power connections within. Within the quality engineering aspect of the role, applicant will perform various qualitative and quantitative analysis of complete product and individual components to ensure conformity to specifications.

Duties:

• Design mechanical aspects of components and complete product assemblies utilizing CAD
• Create test plan and execute performance testing on concept designs, prototypes and in-production product
• Perform in-process and incoming quality inspection on internally and externally produced components and product
• Troubleshoot quality and performance issues and report results to relevant parties
• Work closely with external vendors to maintain quality levels
• Provide technical support as needed

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in design engineering or similar role, additional experience with quality control methods preferred
• 3D modeling required, Solidworks strongly preferred
• Surface modeling experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Test and measurement equipment experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel , MS Project or similar
• Previous experience within ISO 9001 or similar QMS preferred
• CNC machining/knowledge experience a plus
• Metal stamping knowledge a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,300.75 - $73,437.45 per year
