Job Summary:

QTC seeks a senior level Operations Director to oversee the Veteran Affairs Operations. This individual will manage the analysis of business processes to evaluate, formulate, refine, and develop Lean Six Sigma (LSS) workflows and reports in coordination with ever changing contractual and customer requirements in concert with the VP of Operations and other Senior Leaders. In addition, this individual will develop written transition, communication, strategy, statistical, and operational plans for operational improvements, business enhancements, and customer communications as required for the VA Operations (VAO) business line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the national success of direct report regional teams for timely case/report and quality activities
  • Prepares and manages statistical reports on operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Partners with VP of Operations and other Senior Leaders to develop written transition, communication, strategy, statistical, and operational plans for operational improvements, business enhancements, and customer communications as required for the VA Operations (VAO) business line
  • Includes interface with subcontractors and business partners to ensure long-term business success
  • Participates with other senior leaders to develop and grow subcontractor relationships for scheduling success across the nation
  • Ensures operational teams are meeting expectations through effective daily, weekly, and monthly business rhythms to coordinate business and risk mitigation efforts for operational success
  • Analyzes and assesses operational trends and prepares weekly risk mitigation reports and recommendations in advance of emerging performance deficiencies to meet business and contractual goals
  • Conducts sensitive investigations and prepares reports according to findings for senior management or human resources as required
  • Projects human capital needs through continued statistical and operational analysis using forecasting tools
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports on regular intervals on all data related to case/report and quality activities
  • Collaborates with other operational leaders to determine necessary improvements
  • Develops policies and procedures and workflows in coordination with department leaders to ensure cost effectiveness, timeliness, quality and customer service goals are met
  • Plans and maintains national project management oversight impacting all VAO case/report and quality activities and reports progress to senior leaders no less than monthly
  • Solicits input from others and transitions concepts into strategic, tangible plans, products, and services
  • Works closely and partners senior leaders to include Clinical Services (CLS) and Front End leaders for comprehensive operational solutions

  • Must be able to foster strong working relationships and build credibility quickly at all levels of the organization while creating a partnership atmosphere with internal and external resources while achieving/exceeding key operating objectives
  • Must be able to balance risk taking and judgment and be aggressive and confident with a winning attitude
  • Must be a professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character who has demonstrated high moral and ethical behavior at all times
  • Less than or equal to 25% travel required

Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required with 15 years of professional experience. Undergraduate focus should be in business or Health Services
  • MBA or equivalent continued education is preferred with an emphasis in health, financial, statistics, or project management and 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 14 years of progressive leadership responsibility with most recent position at a Senior Management Level in a fast paced healthcare environment
  • Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
  • Military background preferred

Pay and Benefits:

Salary range: $141,000 - $198,000
