Part time HR Generalist

JOB SUMMARY

A local, well known banking organization is looking for a Part Time HR Generalist - Employment & Compliance!

Function:

Under the general direction of the Vice President - Human Resources Manager, perform a variety of administrative functions in the Human Resources Division pertaining to the employee life cycle experience and regulatory compliance.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent through specialized course work and training.
  • At least five years experience in Human Resources which includes working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and administration of the employee life cycle experience; or three years’ experience in Human Resources with SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills, which includes the ability to draft correspondence, memos and letters.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to work additional hours as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for onboarding new employees. Ensure that documentation and procedures are complete and accurate and that employees are enrolled in systems required to perform the essential functions of their job. Assist with administering and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for all new employees. Work collaboratively with others to ensure a positive experience.
  • Responsible for coordinating the offboarding process which includes deploying the exit interview questionnaire, processing documentation for cancellation of benefit plans, inactivation of network and building access. Administer COBRA in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensure COBRA payments are received on a timely basis.
  • Compile data needed for regulatory compliance with the Bank’s Affirmative Action Plan, EEO1 report, Veterans’ report, DE&I Self-Assessment, etc. in accordance with established filing deadlines. Maintain Affirmative Action and DE&I Compliance manuals and support Bank-wide efforts in regard to Bank Policies and Programs.
  • Audit benefit plans on a quarterly basis to ensure compliance. Prepare reports and gather requested information for management, internal and external audits and exams. Monitor results of operational audits and ensure operational preparedness for audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and state and federal laws through employee communication, monitoring required regulatory postings, and recommending and developing new personnel policies or revisions to existing policies.
  • Assist with bank wide employee engagement. Develop and deploy employee engagement surveys throughout the year and summarize results.
  • Assist with the recruitment process which may include posting open positions, evaluating, and selecting applicants, and scheduling interviews. Ensure all recruitment procedures are followed.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform related personnel duties and special projects as may be required or assigned.
  • Assist with the upkeep of personnel files and records for all employees. File documentation as needed.

  • Starting Range: $32 - $41/hr, depending on experience
