Full Job Description

Union County Electric Cooperative is looking for a part-time receptionist / accounts payable clerk. This position will be responsible for account payable functions and providing high quality service to our members and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with processing payments and deposits on accounts and enters payments into the consumer accounting software to maintain current account information.
• Balance cash drawer.
• Prepare bank deposit.
• Track petty cash.
• Maintains accurate and timely records of each member account.
• Answer incoming calls and assist callers as much as possible before forwarding calls to appropriate personnel.
• Process and create all accounts payable checks. Runs reports to show Office Manager amount of checks to be paid. Upon approval create checks and prepares them for signatures.
• Process, code and file all Accounts Payable transactions and vendor invoices.
• Issue employee and director expense reimbursements
• Balance Account Payable checks
• Balance and close Accounts Payable.
• Process year end Accounts Payable and 1099 forms.
• Create monthly Accounts Payable check listing form presentation to General Manager and the Board of Directors
• Contact members regarding collections and non-payment issues.
• Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical work
• Enter new meter information and update meter test data.
• Makes recommendations to Office Manager for departmental improvements.
• Provides assistance to Billing Clerk when needed.
• Works closely with Materials Clerk
• Assists with maintaining inventory records

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Must possess a good command of the written and spoken English language.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
