Position Overview
Investment management firm seeks a full time, Private Wealth Client Associate / Paraplanner. Responsibilities include the timely processing service surrounding our new and prospective clients’ investment accounts; delivering a range of financial planning in support of Advisors and their clients and prospects; following through and ensuring service items are completed; and providing prompt, courteous support and service to existing clients and prospective clients. Description
The Private Wealth Client Associate / Paraplanner enhances the client experience by providing exceptional client service, financial planning services, supporting Branch functions as needed, assisting in safeguarding client assets, and serving as administrative and operational support to Financial Advisors. For established clients, the candidate will often serve as the most frequent point of contact with Ashton Thomas. The Planner/Associate is responsible for understanding firm policies, procedures and digital capabilities that will allow them to interact with Financial Advisor teams, as well as new and existing clients.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Maintain existing client relationships through the processing of client requests, resolving client inquiries, and making sure key client information and documentation is up to date
· Conduct outreach to maintain strong relationships with client base and identify Firm services and solutions, such as digital, online access and cash management offerings, that support clients’ needs
· Onboard new client accounts, which includes the collection of required documentation and client information
· Support the team’s marketing strategy by coordinating with the Ashton Thomas Marketing team and assisting with client events and seminars
· Regularly seek opportunities to use firm resources for peer sharing and collaborating with Financial Advisors
· Proactively participate in firm initiatives directed by local management
· Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
· Actively engage in available training and education programs to maintain status on policies, procedures and risk awareness
· Work closely with internal and external financial planning professionals to provide exceptional service and deliverables to Advisors and their clients. These professionals include corporate trustees, estate planning attorneys, tax attorneys and insurance brokers
· Being a financial planning resource for an elite group of Financial Advisors with varying levels of financial planning skill and experience.
· Work closely with the investment management team to develop capital market assumptions
· Assist in optimizing our financial planning discovery tool
· Meet with Advisors’ clients at various stages of the financial planning process: from data gathering through implementation
· Assist with developing and documenting financial planning processes and procedures
Qualifications
· 4 years working in the wealth management industry
· Certified Financial Planner™ designation highly desired, though other designations may be considered
· Insurance licensed/willingness to become insurance licensed
· Bachelor’s degree, business/finance or economics preferred.
· Series 65 an asset, or willingness to obtain series 65
· Experience working with custodians (Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, TD Ameritrade)
Knowledge/skills
· Exceptional financial planning skills, knowledge and experience
· Ability to communicate complexity in a simplified manner while maintaining the integrity of the underlying financial planning principles
· Strong computer skills, financial planning software experience, knowledge of Microsoft 365 products
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· Detail oriented with superior organizational skills combined with the ability to effectively navigate competing priorities
· Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
· Team player with the ability to collaborate with others
· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
