Hrmango is hiring for a Product Line Manager in the Salt Lake area. This leadership position is ideal for an entrepreneur with a technical degree and a financial mindset who desires complete ownership of a major product line in a global company that is the global technical and market leader supporting mineral exploration, environmental services and construction industries.

You will lead and collaborate cross-functionally throughout the company and with end customers throughout the world to develop solutions for customers to improve their safe, efficient and dependable operations. The Product Line Manager is responsible for all aspects of capital drilling equipment as well as aftermarket support, including spare parts and lifelong service support. Capital drilling equipment includes all drill rigs and support equipment, covering underground and surface exploration drills, sonic drills, and production drills.

Job responsibilities fall in general categories of Strategy (e.g., Market Demand, Product & Technology Roadmap, Product Development, Marketing & Training), Commercial (e.g., P/L responsibility of equipment and spares) and Delivery (e.g., SIOP capital demand planning and spares strategy, delivery of product and services, and customer experience with lifelong support). Although directly reporting to the Products division, close cooperation with Drilling Services (DS) is essential to balance internal customer (DS) and 3rd party customers to drive technology and digitalization initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of relevant experience in mining, construction, civil engineering, or similar.
  • P/L accountability experience or exposure is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering preferred. MBA a plus.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and act tactically in everyday business situations. Demonstrated leadership and strong project management skillset.
  • Technical experience with industrial or B2B products, e.g., working with complex machinery, modularization, standardization, lifecycle management, forecasting, spare parts support, and inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of financial measures, including Profit/Loss statements, Capex planning, cost allocations, and other KPIs.
  • Ability to plan inventory investments, balancing risks and opportunities.
  • Commercial customer experience, in areas such as selling total cost of ownership and ROI, market assessment and competitive product strategy development, regional pricing logic, sales and service contract negotiations, warranty claim support, and working with customers to develop technology roadmaps and investment plans to support their business requirements.
  • Experience leading Product Development Process: business case preparation, engineering development process, product design, sourcing, prototyping, field testing, manufacturing, logistics, field service, product marketing, training, and feedback into continuous product engineering.
  • Coordination of product introductions, including marketing launches, supply and support readiness.
  • Experience with technical training and technical services and support.
  • Strong communication and writing skills. Proven ability to inform, train, and cooperate across functions and cultures and on multiple projects.
  • Excellent leadership skills to follow up and holds others accountable to timelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Available to travel internationally.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Articulate and communicate commercial portfolio strategies. Define and deliver annual goals, including close cooperation with internal customer - Drilling Services (DS).

· Responsible for P/L for the Equipment, Spares & Services product line.

· Develop KPI's and reports to track product line performance and developments, including but not limited to revenue, price, growth, margins, inventory health and turns.

· Establish and enforce pricing and discount rules for all equipment sales.

· Set cost targets for new products. Formalize cost-out processes with Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing.

· Review demand forecasting trends and drive adjustments in SIOP. Provide regular updates on quotations, sales, and business outlook.

· Own product relationship in joint ventures, including possible mergers & acquisitions.

· Support macro-economic trends, market share models, and compare with competitors.

· Track competitive product comparisons and competitive pricing intelligence.

· Manage opportunity-based demand planning and forecasting to balance Sales needs, invested capital, and factory loading. Contribute to manufacturing readiness through planning for long lead-time components. Negotiate target inventory levels for spares.

· Align budgets and Capex allocations with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive long term performance and delivery of product strategy. Present, Convince and Interact with Executive Management for approvals.

· Drive NPD to align with Finance, Engineering, Sourcing and Manufacturing strategies, e.g. budget performance, resource planning, project prioritization, make vs buy decisions, working capital management and capex planning.

· Lead portfolio development of New Product Development (NPD) and Current Product Engineering (CPE). Prepare and lead reviews of value propositions and delivery according to approved business cases.

· Drive new product adoption and standardization with input from customers.

· Manage aftermarket support strategy and implementation, including marketing communications on safety, reliability and value of total cost of ownership for customers.

· Define digitalization needs and align with internal customer (DS) and external customers’ initiatives.

· Conduct competitor benchmarking and provide competitor comparisons.

· Drive product launches and promotional strategies with Marketing.

· Create high-level marketing contents, such as technical articles, conference papers, case stories, and customer references.

· Participate in major contracts negotiations, key account meetings, and conferences.
