Enterprise Strategy & Innovation (ES&I) is a newly formed corporate organization that reports directly into Liberty Mutual's Executive Leadership Team within Liberty Mutual Insurance, a Fortune 100 company with 45,000 employees in 900 offices worldwide.
The function is comprised of five interrelated verticals: an award-winning enterprise strategy and management consulting group (Corporate Strategy & Research), an LMG alignment team focused on managing executive leadership engagement and effectiveness, a cross-enterprise innovation group (Solaria Labs) that serves as a catalyst for experimentation & incubation across the company, a corporate strategic venture team (LMSV) that invests in early-stage startups to drive strategic learnings for the enterprise, and a dedicated business operations team (ES&I Operations) that runs the overall operating model of the ES&I function ensuring cross-teams alignment, operational effectiveness, and financial & performance management.
ES&I Operations is currently searching for a Project Manager I or II, Business Operations to support the day-to-day business operations including management of key vendor relationships, executing special projects, metrics reporting to glean insights on opportunities and performance gaps, special benchmarking studies, and crystalizing results into executive-level PowerPoint presentations and dashboards. This is an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day Enterprise Strategy & Innovation key vendor relationships & subscriptions including two industry leading consulting expert networks; research & recommend new vendors for the function or vendors to decommission; support contract negotiations. Build and maintain a unified dashboard for all the ES&I vendors and subscriptions.
- Synthesize, monitor, and report on results of an annual, holistic Enterprise Strategy & Innovation Performance Scorecard with success metrics aligned with the overall purpose of the function and the strategic priorities of the company; prepare executive-level presentations to the Chief Strategy Officer and other ES&I leaders; support other department level performance scorecard metrics reporting
- Lead targeted & periodic operational benchmarking studies against other Enterprise Strategy & Innovation groups, top-tier internal and external strategy/management consulting teams and external firms; analyze findings and report out on gaps observed and go-forward recommendations to execute

Monitor and synthesize trends on employee engagement & culture interpreting and reporting on key drivers

Run standard and ad hoc department level metrics reporting such as talent portfolio mix and budget analyses; storyboard and craft compelling PowerPoint presentations and summary dashboards to various teams and leadership audiences

Act as a trusted counterpart and sounding board to the VP & Head of Operations, Enterprise Strategy & Innovation

Develop point of view on enabling tools and technology (e.g., SharePoint/Office 365, MS Teams) that will further enhance cross-departmental team collaboration and information sharing effectiveness.

Build and sustain key cross-ES&I departmental relationships for operational data/information curation and coordination purposes to ensure a cohesive and aligned organization

Independently lead special projects of varying scope and complexity as assigned and as needed; historical examples include quarterbacking an industry award submission which resulted in winning an external eminence-building recognition, counseling other departments on operational best practices upon request, etc.
The compensation for this role is dependent upon expertise, experience and education.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other business-related field required with a demonstrated record of academic success; MBA a plus (or Master's degree in a business-related field)

Minimum of 6-8 years experience with progressively more experience in a business operational and/or similar environment with exposure to relevant areas such as external vendor management, metrics reporting, and project planning & coordination

Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication; proven ability to storyboard and craft compelling presentations to various audiences

Client-serving or business operations enabling background a plus

Natural curiosity and acumen with new business enabling tools & technology trends and application to team based, business setting

Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence others; analytical and problem-solving mindset

Ability to grasp new concepts and adapt to changes and demands in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; proven ability to fulfill ad hoc requests and produce deliverables on time and with high quality
The role is located in Boston, MA only; working in a hybrid model (weekly blend of in-office and WFH) - 3-4 days in office; 1-2 days remote
