Job Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of QC personnel, quality testing, and release of product on the production floor. Responsibilities include scheduling and prioritizing QC functions, communicating quality-related issues to appropriate leadership, and ensuring all QC processes are completed and in compliance with company process and procedures.

Primary Functions and Duties

  • Effectively provides and promotes a "Safety First" culture in the workplace place.
  • Oversees and monitors the inspection and testing of materials and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
  • Communicate with Production Supervisors and Plant Manager regarding all aspects of product quality.
  • Make decisions regarding product holds.
  • Develop QC technicians throug training, instructions, and orientation to meet company goals.
  • Responsible for QC technicians administrative paperwork to include performance reviews, time off requests, and timecard review, etc.
  • Identify training needs of QC staff and ensure training is delivered on a continuous basis as needed.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the lab equipment including routine testing, analysis of test results as well as minor repair and calibration as required.
  • Ensure product conformance to accepted quality standards.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Review and propose strong corrective actions for quality escapes (internal or external).
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained, and regular preventative maintenance performed on critical machinery.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing productio performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintain effectiveintra/inter-departmental communications as required (monthly team meetings, shift meetings, production meetings).
  • Assist in post- accident investigations, including recording of events, root cause analysis and corrective actions as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong MS Office skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Must be able to Multitask.
  • Multilingual skills are preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with well-developed organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and extrusion experience is a plus!
  • Experience with ISO 9000 requirements is preferred.

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.
