Remote Opportunity with Otak!

Otak is hiring a remote Transportation Project Engineer to support our Colorado projects. This is a full-time limited duration 6-month project position. In this role, you will exercise your design talents on a wide variety of infrastructure projects ranging from municipal roadways to soft and hard-surface trails to unique underpasses and bridges to site/civil and utility projects for various municipal, state, Federal and private clients. Our client base includes not only our own Front Range Communities but also many destination communities in the Mountain West and the National Park Service.

The successful candidate will design multi-disciplinary projects and use engineering judgment to transform design concepts into high quality construction drawings and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.

Responsibilities of Remote Transportation Engineer:

• Manage tasks and teams associated with transportation projects.
• Perform design services related to roadway and site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads/Microstation and prepare specifications and cost estimates
• Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision, assist in assigning duties and schedules to team members and provide construction support services.
• Participate in preparing proposals and project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Participate in Business Development based on strong client relationships

Requirements of Remote Transportation Engineer:

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Civil Engineer, with an emphasis on transportation, public infrastructure, drainage, utilities, site development, and civic projects for municipal and private clients.
• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent education is required.
• Must be currently enrolled as an Engineer Intern (EI) and/or have your Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to acquire.
• Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads/Microstation.
• Knowledge of local and state regulations and codes, including AASHTO, CDOT, NACTO, and MUTCD design guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional, team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required or an approved exception.

Salary Range: $45-$60 per hour
