Responsibilities

The Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology and the Crump Institute for Molecular Imaging is looking for an experienced Research Fund Administrator to serve as a Principal Fund Manager and serve as the pre-awards office lead and post award portfolio manager. In this role, you will oversee the preparation and submissions of approximately of 100 proposals per year according to agency guidelines and institutional policies and procedures annually. You will also interface with the Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) and department post-award fund management teams to resolve grant issues, in addition to carefully reviewing snapshots, interpreting terms and conditions, providing consultation to faculty and fund managers regarding terms and conditions of awards and allowability of expenditures, and serving as the key departmental representative to outside entities such as federal agencies (e.g. NIH, DOD, NSF), private foundations, and professional organizations such as Society of Research Administrators (SRA) and National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).

Salary range: $67400.00-$133400.00 Annual

Qualifications
Required:
  • Demonstrated skill in managing an office with complex functions and a heavy workload. ALL REQ
  • Skill in analyzing situations, defining problems, identifying concerns and suggesting
alternatives.
  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize job functions to meet deadlines and ensure
smooth workflow, and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Mature interpersonal skills to work effectively and manage group process in an
academic environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to review detailed work for critical inaccuracies. ALL REQ
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh and Windows systems with Word, Excel,
Access and File Maker Pro.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current federal, state and local regulations pertaining to extramural
funding.
  • Ability to interpret and apply UC, federal and state policies regarding contract and grant
administration.
  • Ability to interact constructively with faculty and staff in person and over the phone,
exercising tact and diplomacy with emphasis on flexibility and professionalism.
  • Ability to compile and organize a variety of data for use in established report formats.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Ability to organize and delegate tasks and to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise staff, including training, assignment, review and evaluation.

Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of extramural proposal budgets sufficient to review proposals for
accuracy and adherence to agency guidelines.
