Safety Responsibilities

1. Monitor employee safety always! LOTO procedures MUST be adhered to.

2. Safety meeting attendance and involvement including mill walkthroughs, ergonomic studies and general safety improvements is required.

3. Responsible for providing a fire watch during regular production when the mill is down and days with no production

4. Responsible for employees following all company policies and procedures

5. Notify Safety manager of all accidents and assist with accident report root cause analysis

Equipment Responsibilities

1. Notify maintenance any time debarkers are leaving bark or tearing wood.

2. Monitor condition of sawmill equipment and communicate using maintenance work order forms and/or directly to maintenance lead man any maintenance issues which require attention. Copy all work orders to production supervisor and maintenance manager.

3. Ensure best practices so employees don’t cause undo equipment wear and tear

4. Cleanliness of mill during regular production and when the mill is down for breakdowns and days with no production.

Production Responsibilities

1. The debarker operator should pull a good mix from both debarker's.

2. The debarker operator operates at a sufficient production level.

3. The sash should operate as efficiently as possible while maintaining no gaps between cants.

4. Effective Crew management using the job schedule to maximize production.

5. Constantly seek to train and improve crew skills and abilities.

6. Function as a trouble shooter and production expediter lending a hand when needed and reducing downtime.

7. Be constantly maintaining a good flow and employee moral.

Paperwork Responsibilities

1. Responsible for temporary employee time cards and production reports to office.

2. Reports to General Manager.
