Starlight Software is searching for an in-office Denver-based Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist who will become a key member of our operations team. A primary responsibility of this position is to review and analyze data in order to review and analyze data to support Starlight Software subscriber’s visibility into their financial and operational efficiencies.

This team member will become an expert with the Starlight Software and focus on directly supporting our customers through the creation of ad hoc and operational reports and data visualizations which are vital to their business. Some training of our customers for self-service reporting will occur. This position is responsible for interviewing and understanding each customers key business metrics, and creating data visualizations, dashboards and interactive reports to help subscribers manage their businesses better based on live data.

Responsibilities:

• Become a product expert with Starlight Software, including it’s data structure, current reporting capabilities and future strategic information needs.
• Work directly with customers, and in coordination with our success and support team, to understand needs and develop customized information needs.
• Use intuitive self-service reporting built into the product’s user interface to help customers with product training, remote as well as onsite when required, (ability and willingness to travel up to 10%)
• Provide custom report writing and data visualization services to customers and partners
• Develop best practices to be shared with the growing team at Startlight Software.
• Develop additional customer reporting and visualization offerings based on customer and market needs
• Serves as a subject matter expert across the organization and assist users with reporting and analysis activities and tools, including ad hoc reporting
• Supports user training, testing, documentation, and roll-out of reports and end-user reporting tools
• Create and produce recurring reports in support of revenue and related fields, Facilities Operations, Hauling Operations, Sales, Materials, Efficiencies, and Tax and Municipal reporting requirements.

Work Experience/Skills Requirements:

• 3-5 years working with executives to create timely, accurate and creative data visualizations and reporting.
• Mastery of financial metrics and proper accounting methodologies is required.
• Demonstrated skills at leading teams of analysts and executives in the design, creation and delivery of innovative real-time data solutions.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively with others in a team environment
• Perform business analysis in order to understanding how businesses function and recognizing potential areas of improvements.
• Able to manage multiple, parallel activities and organize time and resources.
• Able to write, edit, and optimize queries.
• High expertise in at least one software/system design application.
• Working knowledge of a wide range of interpretive analysis tools (e.g. trend analysis, spreadsheets, comparisons, graphs, summary versus detail charts, drill down, correlations, exception analysis).
• Knowledge of relational database concepts and design. SQL query drafting
• Understanding and knowledge of geo-location, tracking, and related technologies
• Demonstrated advanced analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Prior experience with industry report writers such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Power BI, Exago, SSRS, Tableau, Domo or other BI reporting solutions
• Advanced communication skills, including with different team members in different sectors of the business.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
