We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Staff Systems / Training Architect Engineer based out of Beale AFB , CA. As a Training Architect Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our team. What You'll Get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our diverse and talented team. The selected candidate will coordinate the Systems Engineering roles and responsibilities associated with a Core Program capability or set of capabilities.

The successful candidate must be capable of implementation of System requirements through system design, development, integration and verification. The position is expected to provide leadership to the Enterprise on developing, documenting, producing and sustaining networked training systems.

Candidate will contribute to highly visible activities and have opportunities to present capabilities and strategy to sector and customer leadership.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Perform systems engineering analyses at all levels with a total system product approach to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Perform system analysis, design optimization, system performance assessments, and operations analysis work in support of integrated mission analysis for current and potential customers.
  • Understand and communicate operational mission requirements to engineering teams.
  • Track Measures of Performance, Measures of Effectiveness and define other metrics to ensure capabilities meet customer objectives.
  • Responsible for setting the vision for future capabilities and driving the execution of that vision.
  • Direct customer and supplier interaction to include regular presentations and detailed analysis of issues.
  • Be familiar with threat system analysis, system survivability, mission performance & effectiveness, and military requirements
  • Flexibility to evolving program environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and at least 14 years of experience OR Master’s Degree in STEM and 12 years of experience
  • Active DoD Top Secret
  • The ability to obtain and maintain program access
  • Experience in developing and managing distributed networks
  • Experience in direct customer interaction
  • Experience in project leadership



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer Engineering degree in Software or Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Physics.
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in training systems
  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.

Salary Range: $178,700 USD - $268,100 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
