Job Summary

This position will assist in customer service; receiving, sorting, and loading steel and agricultural products; cleanup; and stocking.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Safely assists customers in a professional manner by:

• Helping with steel orders, including pulling, stacking, and loading steel.
• Loading and unloading product for customers

2. Operates safely and efficiently a variety of equipment, which may include: cutting torch, chop saw, band saw, forklift, overhead crane, variety of hand and power tools (including hand drills, hand saws, grinders, wrenches, hammers, etc.)

3. Receives product from incoming trucks, unloads, and places in appropriate storage area.

4. Moves product to appropriate area for shipping and stocking in efficient and safe manner.

5. Complies with OSHA and branch safety standards for blocking, storing, handling and stacking products.

6. Completes accurate and legible paperwork as necessary.

7. Daily demonstrates commitment to be present and work all hours assigned as needed.

8. Willingly performs and completes any work assigned in an efficient, safe and productive manner.

9. Cooperates with employees, customers, suppliers and others with honesty, integrity and respectful manner.

10. Willingly complies with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, local, company and customer statutes or rules.

11. Effectively communicates with management and co-workers.

12. Accepts responsibility for own decisions and actions.

Qualifications and Skills

Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and maximum of 100 pounds occasionally, pushing and pulling up to 80 pounds, gripping, squatting, bending climbing, standing, reaching when transferring, sorting, stacking, and delivering products. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and stand on concrete floors, in an unheated warehouse or outside, with moderate levels of noise.

• Standard driver's license
• Ability to perform math calculations to figure lengths, weights, and billing.
• Ability to operate cutting torch and small tools.
• Knowledge of metals preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to sustain a high degree of attention and care to prevent injury to self and others when transferring, sorting, stacking, and delivering products.
• Good work ethic, with high honesty and integrity.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Able to pass back ground check
