Basic Job Functions:

• Takes lead in identifying, coordinating, and creating internal communications around both market and internal economic activities (e.g., pricing, volumes, flows, geo-political events) to keep business unit and Nucor leadership well informed of market developments and how they are impacting Nucor’s raw material supply chain
• Works closely with the rest of the market analysis team, commercial team, and leadership team to identify communication opportunities and coordinate appropriate analysis to facilitate topical and timely communication outputs
• Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant market developments
• Adhere to the company’s brand guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free documents
• Build and maintain relationships with all teammate levels and key external role-players to synthesize and articulate information

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, data science, economics or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications and/or communications strategy development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
• Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools
• Content writing experience for all media platforms
• Ability to analyze and articulate impactful events and market activities
• Excellent collaboration skills across multiple levels of the organization
• Meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in communications, public relations, data science, economics, or a related field
• Minor in or previous experience with math, statistics, or data science a plus
• Prior experience in commodities, equities, or economics
