Landus is currently seeking an Automation Engineer. The Automation Engineer is a technical position with responsibility to support specialty areas within the automation and network domains. Would you consider yourself reliable and detail-oriented? Then come join our team!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Includes but not limited to the following:
- Support of the PLCs and applications for Grain, Agronomy and Animal Nutrition
- Recommend and plan PLC and automation software upgrades
- Modify PLC programs to achieve desired results
- Fix PLC hardware errors and help electricians and Landus Cooperative operations staff with sensor replacement, and recommend replacement technologies for failing devices
- Plan automation maintenance activities with operations
- Analyze problems and determine a resolution
- Support of local networks including fiber optic, copper based ethernet and wireless
- Recommend and install LAN upgrades and security measures
- Provide technical support to vendors working in support of Business Units
- Bring critical systems online to minimize the financial impact from outages
- Document network, equipment, logic controllers, and software applications including complex electrical drawings as needed
- Manage vendors and contractors to complete assigned tasks
- Evaluate IT efficiencies of the plant, recommend, program, and implement new features and functions
- Train users on the use of automation software as needed
- Manage inventory and backups of automation equipment
- Build PCs to Landus Cooperative specifications and required applications
- Provide 24/7 on call support in rotation and as additional times require
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to define problems
- Ability to read and interpret documents
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mathematics is preferred and at least 5 years of experience and proven competency in specialty areas. We will accept also a combination of degrees and work experience. Electricians license for industrial controls and Alan Bradley certifications preferred.
