We have a position available as Canyon Terrace Host!

We are looking for an individual that wants to provide a luxury, personalized wine tasting experience to our guests in the heart of Ballard Canyon, just outside Solvang. Our tasting experience is all about exceptional table service in a stunning location.

Position is Part-Time status, and eligible for gratuities, and Club commissions!

Essential Duties Include (but not limited to):

- Delivering exceptional customer service at all times.

- Offering assigned guests a customized wine experience, sharing information about winery history, vineyard sourcing, and winemaking techniques.

- Developing ongoing relationships with customers to encourage repeat visits and future sales.

- Responding quickly and graciously to customer requests and feedback.

- Promoting and selling our wine, wine products, wine club memberships, and gift merchandise, including seeking new and innovative ways to sell our products through better and more unique customer service experiences.

- Assisting with special events, special wine tastings, and VIP luncheons or dinners

- Assisting with daily business functions, including opening and closing procedures, wine inventory, and restocking.

- Verifying guests are of legal age to consume alcohol.

- Handling routine purchasing transactions and daily sales accounting.

- Accurately operating POS system and other office equipment and systems.

- Ensuring tasting deck and other public areas are neat and clean and COVID-19 protocols are followed.

- Working weekend and evening winery events.

- Staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.

- Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Proven sales results, in the wine industry or other service industry

- Knowledge of wine & wine production (preferred but not required)

- Ability to read, write and speak English; bilingual any other language a plus.

- Excellent verbal & interpersonal communication skills required.

- Professional conduct and demeanor. Willing to comply with company grooming and dress policies.

- Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Requirements:

- Working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors and associated noise levels.

- Position requires extensive standing, walking, and bending.

- Traverse stairs and uneven ground, while carrying a server tray.

- Must perform physically strenuous tasks including lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs)
