Job Summary and Qualifications

The Data Analyst II is responsible for supporting HCA Healthcare’s clinical and operational leaders with enterprise data products, including various dashboards and reports, through end-user education and timely issue resolution. The role requires a willingness to become a subject matter expert for various clinical reporting products with a strong customer service mindset.

As a key member of the Clinical Data & Analytics Products Team, the Data Analyst II utilizes analytical and SQL skills to assist the team with quality assurance (QA) activities and troubleshooting end-user issues. The Data Analyst II should have a basic understanding of database architecture, be detail oriented and have a proficient knowledge of business intelligence (BI) tools and SQL.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert for assigned products/applications/dashboards
  • Serve as the first-line responder to clinicians in HCA Healthcare hospitals for clinical data products
  • Identify, document and ensure resolution of production issues
  • Create documentation related to product including requirements and data guides
  • Validate and troubleshoot discrepancies in data by creating and executing SQL queries in Teradata SQL, and potentially other cloud platforms (Azure, etc.)
  • Provide training and support to Facility-level users, including planning and leading tool demonstrations, interpreting dashboard data, and assisting in opportunity discovery
  • Facilitate effective communication among all team members and leadership to ensure comprehensive understanding of needs, expectations, and requirements
  • Perform testing through the creation of documentation of test scripts / results and execution of testing of dashboard products
  • Establish and meet due dates
  • Accurately report issues and status to leadership
  • Take ownership of responsibilities, working individually or with teams to accomplish goals

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required; 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Results-oriented individual with a demonstrated strong commitment and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects within deadlines
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment or independently with little supervision as needed
  • Strong understanding of relational database systems (Teradata, SQL server, etc.)
  • Intermediate SQL knowledge required; experience analyzing and creating data sets using Teradata SQL or BI tools required
  • Experience using market BI tools such as Power BI, Qlikview, and MicroStrategy
  • Solid problem and issue resolution experience with desire to create quality deliverables
  • Detailed oriented and analytical with good organization and documentation skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks simultaneously and adapt to a rapidly changing environment

  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within the organization
