Paragon is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) team. The Engineering Technician will support design engineering with the building and testing of prototypes and test fixturing. A strong candidate for this position will be able to work closely with design engineers to assist in the development of electronics design packages, from concept to production, in accordance with Paragon's quality assurance program.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with design engineers on newly designed and reverse engineered products to assist in choosing components, as well as developing both the assembly process and test procedures to verify functionality.
• Suggest alternative components based on availability and function.
• Assist in design for manufacturability aspects of design.
• Utilize best practices and industry standards to ensure quality in design.
• Assemble prototypes, including a mixture of SMT and thru-hole circuit board components, as well as mechanical housing and enclosure assembly.
• Minor fabrication including drilling, tapping, and cutting using hand tools.
• Assist in design, fabrication, and implementation of test set-ups and fixturing to meet testing requirements.
• Perform functional testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and modification of a wide variety of complex electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components.
• Testing and troubleshooting with digital oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators and other test equipment, as needed.
• Additional duties and tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associates degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology (alternatives will be considered)
• Must have hands on electronics assembly and testing experience.
• Must have thorough understanding of electronic and electrical theory.
• Must have experience with fabrication and assembly of metal housings and enclosures.
• Experience with IPC-A-610G and J-STD-001 is preferred.
• Experience working under a quality program is preferred.
• Experience with Altium is a plus.
• Experience with LT Spice is a plus.
