The Field Engineer (FE) will be in charge of providing engineering support for voice and data network connectivity issues, as well as working as a liaison for our clients and escalation teams. They are responsible for providing on-site installation, support, and triage to client environments ranging from wired and wireless systems to servers.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and will be able to work effectively in a diverse, highly talented team, and will provide technical documentation, and operations support to networking, servers, virtualization, and storage technologies.

Field Engineers will have working knowledge of the following:

• IP networking and telecommunication technologies (i.e., routers, switches, wireless access points)
• Single-mode and multi-mode fiber with various fiber connectors (i.e., LC, SC, ST)
• Fiber optics LIUs
• Category 5/6e copper cabling for use in voice and data networking
• Telecommunications racks in IDFs and MDFs

Field Engineers will:

• Work in a team environment and support teammates
• Install IP networking and telecommunication equipment (i.e., routers, switches, wireless access points)
• Install other IP based platforms (i.e., servers, audio visual, camera systems)
• Install (rack) equipment (router/switch/server) and dress (cable) a data networking IDF/MDF rack
• Interconnect IP networking and telecommunication equipment using copper and fiber cabling among other connectors
• Troubleshoot IP networking and telecommunication equipment (i.e., routers, switches, wireless access points)
• Troubleshoot IP networking and telecommunications physical infrastructure (i.e., Cat5/6e, fiber, jacks, LIUs)
• Perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance of these technologies

Field Engineers will possess:

• Ability to work in team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong customer services skills
• Ability to handle a variety of tasks and prioritize those tasks
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Experience:

• 2-4 Years of IT experience or equivalent education
• Experience with cabling and field installations required
• Experience with Cisco required
• Certifications are a plus, but not required
• Experience with LogicMonitor a plus

Field Engineer Tasks:

• Install IP networking and telecommunication equipment
• Install (rack) and dress (cable) a data networking IDF/MDF rack
• Interconnect IP networking and telecommunication equipment
• Troubleshoot IP networking and telecommunications infrastructure
• Perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance of IP technology platforms
• Create trouble tickets, triage and update trouble tickets
• Manage changes, upgrades, improvements, and integration
• Work with tier 2 and 3 escalations, manufacturers, and ISPs as needed to ensure the highest level of service
• Work directly with clients on their needs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
