About the Role:

The Financial Controller will oversee the accounting function of the business from start to finish, working directly with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure timely reporting to internal management and private equity stakeholders. With visibility at the highest levels of management, the candidate should have a keen attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines effectively. A strong foundation in report building and GAAP accounting is a must.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee a team of 4-6 direct reports including AR, and AP staff.

· Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all related tasks, including, but not limited to bank reconciliations, various account reconciliations and accruals, and monthly deferred revenue / percentage of completion calculations.

· Establish and maintain formal accounting policies, practices, and procedures, including a documented system of internal controls, in order to ensure GAAP compliance.

· Prepare and submit state contract sales reports based on regulatory guidelines.

· Oversee and facilitate the efficient and timely execution of the annual financial statement audit.

· Maintain fixed assets register, including tracking of various construction projects.

· Manage online vehicle maintenance dashboard and ensure its reconciliation with the fixed assets register.

· Oversee the annual physical inventory counts, adjustment reconciliation, and posting.

· File monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filings.

· Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for internal and external management.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting

· CPA preferred

· 5+ years accounting experience, including 3+ years public accounting and construction accounting (preferred)

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel proficiency is required; experience with Excel’s Power Query is preferred)

· Strong knowledge of and experience with accounting under US GAAP, including ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers

· Sage Intacct (accounting) and/or ConnectWise Manage (operations) experience preferred

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
