Job Description :

The City of Naperville seeks an experienced HR Generalist to provide professional and technical human resources consulting and support services to City management and staff. The City of Naperville has over 900 employees and an HR department of 10 professional HR staff. This position will work alongside two other current HR Generalists and be assigned to support specific City departments. The HR Generalist researches, analyzes, develops, and implements a full range of human resource programs, systems, and services to meet the evolving needs of the organization. In partnership with client department management, the HR Generalist provides direction and assists in building effective structures/teams and supports the development of successful leaders for the organization.


Salary: up to $90,000 commensurate with experience

Duties

Staffing and recruitment; employee and labor relations; investigations and discipline; legal compliance; policy development and interpretation; performance management; training and development; employee engagement and retention; employee recognition and incentive programs; support of compensation and benefits initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Minimum of five years Generalist experience in a larger organization with over 500 employees
  • Effectively communicate across the organization (written and verbal)
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work on multiple projects
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Current SHRM or HRCI certification
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License
