Position Summary: As an HR Generalist you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day service by supporting our Manufacturing Plant. Primary responsibilities will be to assist with a variety of HR functional areas which may include employee relations and investigations, HR policies and compliance, benefits administration, leave of absence processing, and general employment related questions and concerns.

Required Experience for Human Resources Generalist I:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and complete projects timely and accurately.
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Provides an avenue to answer employee requests and questions and works with employees and the management team to address employee relations issues.
  • Assists managers with employee corrective action forms, performance improvement plans and other performance and disciplinary issues.
  • Manage the performance review process by tracking and notifying managers of review dates and assist managers with the preparation and execution of performance reviews.
  • Prepares and Maintains all employee personnel and training files, electronic and paper form. Ensures accurate record-keeping by filing documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists with recruitment effort for company: as needed writes and places advertisements, reviews resumes, performs telephone and in person interviews and provides recommendations to management / managers.
  • Conducts new-employee orientations and on boarding of all new employees.
  • Manage employee leave programs and requests, track enrollees and maintain communication with employees on leave.
  • Review timecards for payroll prep in Payroll system. Manage employee leave balances, vacation balances and make adjustments and corrections when required.
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrates understanding of company culture and core standards.
  • Assists in administering human resource policies and procedures.
  • Collects and organizes HR data related to compensation, benefits, training, and recruiting.
  • Resolves basic employee concerns with minimal oversight
  • Prepares complex reports for team analysis
  • Assists with resolving issues with the onboarding process
  • Assists HR Business Partner with projects as needed
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.

General Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
