Job Description :

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist serves as an advisor, advocate, and functional specialist supporting people operations within the assigned region. The HR Generalist fulfills a wide variety of essential functions to help leaders achieve business performance goals while offering a great employment experience for all employees. The HR Generalist fulfills tasks including but not limited to benefits administration, employee relations, training/development, performance management, compensation planning, onboarding advisement, recruitment support, mandated state/federal reporting, and employment law compliance.

The HR Generalist is empowered to work independently while serving as the primary contact for all people operation needs for each location within the assigned region.

Essential Functions:

  • As HR Generalist, provides superior customer service and relationship management to leaders and team members within assigned region; the HR Generalist assumes the primary role of advocate for employees within region.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to assess human capital needs and goals while developing plans to optimize human resource workflows, employee experiences
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems; provides reports and analyses to identify goals and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Conducts compensation and benefit research and benchmarking; shares findings with leadership and makes recommendations as appropriate.
  • Coaches supervisors on disciplinary action and performance management; reviews and/drafts documentation.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Provides resources supports as assigned to independently administer specialty program(s) for the entire organization; collaborates with other designated resources specialists for needs within assigned region.
  • Advises on recruitment, screening, and interviewing efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; advises on onboarding best practices; monitors career-pathing and development programs.
  • Conducts internal investigations with confidentiality and dignity as needed to resolve complaints and allegations; provides employee relations counseling; recommends solutions.
  • Outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Audits sites for compliance.
  • Handles Vendor Management as designated resource for specialty program(s).

Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree and three to five years of HR Generalist experience, or a master’s degree in HR management and two years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Masters’ degree in human resources or related field.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
