Position Summary:

The IT Manager is an on-site, hands on position that will maintain and manage software, hardware, networks, and the help desk. This position will diagnose and resolve problems quickly, which requires patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The position goal is to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently with minimal downtime. They will work in conjunction with an IT Help Desk Technician and an outside consultant.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and solutions for testing, systems, and support.
  • Partner with the business to establish IT strategies and plans that leverage technology to improve business capabilities, agility, and productivity.
  • Develop and deliver IT security and infrastructure policies across the organization ensuring compliance.
  • Proactively resolve internal customer issues specific to infrastructure and system issues.
  • Monitor applications and related service agreements and relationships, including cost and service level optimization.
  • Lead the IT team to deliver superior internal customer service.
  • Lead various IT projects.
  • Operate and maintain system hardware and software, including servers, phone systems and network equipment; ensure high availability on mission critical networks and services.
  • Maintain network performance by performing network and server monitoring, analysis and performance tuning; troubleshoot network and server problems; work with vendors or consultants as needed to ensure timely problem resolution.
  • Analyze user project proposals to include identifying potential problem areas and recommend optimum approaches for project path.
  • Design, install and configure computer systems with an emphasis on network security and industry best practices; secure network by developing access policies, monitoring, control and evaluation.
  • Upgrade systems by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating and installing enhancements.
  • Maintain and test internal data backup and disaster recovery processes; implement new processes, backup systems, and disaster recovery procedures as necessary.
  • Anticipate server and networking problems and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage all server software and OS licensing.
  • Ensure timely user-notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed.
  • Work closely with customers to optimize the end-user experience.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Training:

  • Associates to Bachelors degree required with emphasis in information systems or equivalent experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 5+ years experience in network or systems administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Experience with managing ERP systems (preferably TCM / RB-ERP)
  • Experience managing EDI systems
  • Computer hardware technical aptitude
  • Microsoft SQL Administration experience
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to take risks, be flexible, learn, and grow both personally and professionally.
  • Ability to problem solve and implement new ideas.

Working Environment:

  • 90% - Office environment
  • 10% - Manufacturing environment; clean, low to moderate noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment where applicable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
