Principal Software Engineer - Classified Dataflow System - Tech Lead

Role
This role is for a technical lead of our secure data management team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a solution focused on importing classified and unclassified data from our partners, and ensuring the data gets tagged and routed to its appropriate enclaves. The solution will take into account best security practices, and permit necessary scaling.

This is a hybrid position. You will have the opportunity to split time between working remotely and working in a secure facility in NoVA just outside DC.

Responsibilities

• Participate and lead design and architecture of back-end systems
• Develop robust and high-quality software, putting the user’s requirements first
• Maintain functionally correct software, assured by a suite of automation tests
• Facilitate delivery and deployment of operational capabilities

Required Qualifications

• Must possess a TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Degree requirement can be met with four years of hands on experience in a software engineer or similar full time position
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop independently software based capabilities
• Experience providing daily guidance and oversight to other engineers
• Experience contributing to or leading the design of new capabilities
• Proficient in two or more of the the following programming languages: Python, Go, C/C++, Rust, or Java
• Proficient in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman)
• Comfortable and proficient in Linux-based development environments
• Experience with distributed message queues and caching tools
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Comfortable in a high-trust, adaptable, team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a software engineer or similar role in the Cyber Operation Domain
• Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
• Proficient with container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Experience with cyber operations security concepts or tradecraft
• Experience communicating with customers and end-users

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
