About Corneille Law Group

Corneille Law Group, LLC is a multi-location law firm of dedicated trial lawyers with a strong track record in medical malpractice litigation, including paraplegic injury, quadriplegic injury, brain injury, or wrongful death. Corneille has an immediate position for a legal assistant in their Madison office. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office products, have strong organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills (including proofreading, editing, spelling, and grammar), ability to work within deadlines, exhibit professionalism, and have knowledge of legal practices and terminology. Knowledge of Circuit Court and Appellate Court filing preferred. This is a legal assistant position versus a paralegal position and involves calendaring, managing attorney schedules, dictation, drafting correspondence, and other administrative tasks at the direction of an attorney.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Consistently and professionally communicate through internal and external calls and emails, building relationships with clients.
  • Perform administrative tasks independently.
  • Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence, legal documents, transcription, memos, and other materials as required.
  • Proofread all materials for typographical errors, office style conformity, accuracy, and inclusion of required information and enclosures.
  • File documents with the appropriate courts.
  • Assist with continuous client outreach, contact, and relationship building.
  • Timely filing and maintenance of paper and electronic documents and records.
  • Organize binders for experts and trial binders and boxes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organization, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, Lexis Advance, and Tabs3.
  • Experience or proven knowledge of court documents and procedures.
  • General litigation knowledge.
  • Familiarity with CCAP.
  • Experience with case research.

Office Information

  • Hours of business are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • In-office position only

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
