Manager of Product Engineering

Yuasa Battery, Inc., the leading manufacturer, and distributor of power sports batteries located in Laureldale, Pennsylvania is searching for a results-oriented Manager of Product Engineering to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the growth by developing new and improved products, processes, and components.

Essential Functions:

· Plans and directs battery design development projects.

· Manages component and part evaluation and analysis.

· Manages vendor and technical development and assistance.

· Manages product testing and subsequent reports.

· Other reporting and duties as assigned.

· Supervises the Product Engineering department.

· Sets priorities for the Product Engineering team.

· Set goals and objectives for staff members.

· Provide timely performance evaluations.

· Collaborate with HR on development plans for Product Engineering.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of lead-acid battery chemistry, focus on AGM batteries.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
• Able to work in a changing environment; must be able to promote suggestions to assist in the creation of an efficient workflow and be interested in growth opportunities within the department.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Accountability for performance.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Written and oral communication proficiency.
• Must follow the environmental program and all safety rules.·
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• 8+ years’ experience in Lead Acid batteries required.
