We are looking for a creative Marketing Specialist with strong initiative and attention to detail to join our boutique marketing team. Our ideal candidate must be comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities as well as long-term strategy, thriving on tight deadlines and shifting priorities. The Marketing Specialist will:

  • assist the marketing team in developing and executing marketing plans from start to finish for 24–28 new books per season as well as continuing to promote our extensive backlist
  • plan and implement promotional campaigns for special sales opportunities throughout the year, including seasonal events, holidays, and special offers
  • schedule, produce, and manage paid advertising campaigns in both print and digital formats; maintain the overall ad schedule, monitoring the ad budget, and reviewing the results
  • create, edit, and oversee the development of a variety of direct mail projects, including product catalogs, self-mailers, and postcards within budget guidelines
  • coordinate and plan conferences and trade shows throughout the year and travel to several conferences and shows approximately 3–5 times a year(required)
  • communicate with authors to provide graphics and promotional materials and coordinate conference events.
  • work with our graphic designers, videographers, and proofreaders to produce polished and engaging marketing assets for all advertising and direct-marketing communications, including print, digital, and video assets
  • craft content and communication that is on brand, relatable, and engaging
  • analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies to promote our books, resources, and other initiatives

  • extremely well-organized, accurate, and detail-oriented and possesses the ability to move smoothly from one task to the next
  • able to communicate clearly and amicably in both verbal and written form

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • 3–5 years marketing experience; knowledge of the Catholic publishing industry is a plus
  • a keen awareness of trends, topics, and issues relevant in today’s Catholic landscape
  • Must be an actively-practicing Roman Catholic

Additional Skills:

  • proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workplace, website management systems, and analytics
  • graphic design and or web development skills is a plus
  • experience with Trello, Dropbox, Slack, and Canva is a plus
  • ability to travel as necessary
